I'm raising money to join a convoy driving 4-wheel-drive vehicles from the UK to Ukraine in September.

As many of you will know, I worked in Kyiv back in 1996-7 as Director of Studies at International House language school, and have fond memories of my friends and students in Ukraine. I would like to do more to actively support the Ukrainian people in their fight to save their country.

Jeeps For Peace has been organising convoys of vehicles and other equipment to deliver to Ukraine for frontline humanitarian aid, and so far have delivered over 550, including ambulances and a fire engine.

Once in Ukraine, vehicles are modified before being sent to the front line, where they will be used to deliver critical supplies of food and medicines, evacuate civilians in danger and retrieve wounded soldiers.

Vehicles are either donated directly or bought with donated funds, then driven by volunteers across Europe to be handed over in Ukraine.

I am hoping to join the next convoy in September as a driver, but need to raise the funds to cover the fuel, accommodation and return transport costs for the journey. Any money above the costs incurred will be donated to Jeeps For Peace to continue their work.
